Walt Brewer
Walt started his studies with Dr. Kennedy Shultz in Atlanta in 1988. He completed all of his classwork, practitioner and ministerial studies at the Atlanta Center. Dr. Shultz studied with Raymond Charles Barker in NYC.
In 2001, Walt moved from Atlanta to start the Center for Spiritual Living Central Texas with our first service on January 20, 2002.
Now 19 years later, Walt enjoys preparing and sharing his Sunday talks teaching classes and spiritual counseling.
Melanie Colpaart
Melanie first experienced Science of Mind (Religious Science) in Las Vegas Nevada at the age of 14. Brought up in Christian Science, her family migrated to the "new" teaching and she began her spiritual journey. After moving between states, and a few new schools later, she continued her interest in Science of Mind and the teachings of Earnest Holmes.
While in college in Arizona she began volunteering at a small Science of Mind center in Sedona and her journey towards ministerial training began.
Melanie was ordained in 2002 after seven years of classes. She was an assistant Minister for 5 years and headed up the youth center during that time. When her teacher, and the founder of her church in Northern California retired, she was chosen as the head minister. Melanie enjoyed many rewarding years as the leader of the Conscious Living Center, Northern California.
Melanie and her husband Dirk moved to Austin in 2006. Once there, she joined Center for Spiritual Living Central Texas as assistant minister to Reverend Walt Brewer.
Melanie loves hiking, international travel, live music, and sharing the teachings of Science of Mind

First experience with Science of Mind was in CA in 1978. That invitation changed my thinking and changed my life. A Religious Science Practitioner since 1989, I facilitate classes, creating One Night Gems programs and Women’s Intention Groups. I love leading guided meditations and writing origami-ed treatments to give away. Please use me to remind you of the Truth about you and all you desire! Bottom Line: The Science of Mind philosophy gives me a way to create every day “brand new” and to live a happy, fulfilled life of choice!
